CheapInsulin.org is published by the Cheap Insulin Foundation, a nonprofit educational and charitable organization, EIN
Our mission is to increase access to affordable insulin, diabetes medications, equipment & supplies, and to promote improved diabetes management & quality of life for all diabetics.
In addition to publishing the website, we also provide one-on-one assistance to help diabetics and their families obtain insulin, insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors (CGM's).
As we raise more funds, we plan to offer more direct assistance, in order to make sure the best diabetes management tools are available to all who need them.
As most diabetics know, over the past 20 years, retail insulin prices have gone from $20-40 per vial to $200-400 per vial, for the same exact types of insulin.
However, what's not widely known, is that almost anybody in the US can get insulin (and most other medications) at a fraction of the retail price, through the federal 340b drug discount program.
Insulin Pumps & Continuous Glucose Monitors have become the standard of care for T1Ds and can dramatically improve glucose control and quality of life.
However, many diabetics (and parents) are frustrated by the expense and limited insurance and Medicaid coverage. And many are unaware of all the resources available to them.
To help resolve this problem, we are expanding our services and assistance related to insulin pumps and CGM's.
